NEC parking

Does anyone know if you can get any discounts for the parking at the NEC ( Birmingham)?

Or if anyone lives in the area and can tell me any cheaper alternatives these would be welcome aswell - ie can you park your car somewhere and get a bus in??, is there any other parking walking distance?

I always think the NEc parking is such a rip off

Many thanks

if you have a blue disabled badge, Im told its free parking at the nec. I hope so cos im going on saturday and dont intend paying to park up.
When there's a knock at the door, why do dogs always think its for them?

    Thanks col sav,
Do you have any idea of the adult fare and parking fee at the station so i can compare against the NEC costs?

It sounds a good idea though

Dont know if this is too late! There is no free parking within walking distance of the NEC. Hampton in Arden is the next station after the NEC and Marston Green is the one before - parking at Marston Green is free but very busy (if you did decide to do this there is another free car park at the back of the Tavern pub) - a cheap day return ticket on a Saturday would cost £1.20 for an adult.

Parking for some shows are free (usually the ones which are free to enter too) and car parks are generally allocated to different shows. If you know which ones, you can register for them and use their car park instead :o

A friend of mine ;) always parks at the metropol hotel (which is a shorter walk from the NEC than the NEC car park), telling the security guard that they're meeting residents in the bar... tis free but a little cheeky!

We always park in the International Station car park which is outside the entrance of the NEC. Its £1 cheaper than the NEC car park and also a lot less traffic when you come to leave after the concert/exhibition.
