Hi

I am tryng to find a list of payday lenders, but all i ever find is brokers and affiliates who tend to just take my information and pass it round to other brokers, who spam me and send texts, none of them ever find lenders, so i guess it's some kind of information gathering company

I want to borrow £200 directly from a real lender!! i want to log onto their website and apply for a small loan to receive it the next day without having to fax or send copies of statements in the mail.

can you recommend any?
thanks

Larn

    Hi there.

I don't have any experience of these but have a look at Wonga www.wonga.com

They offer short term loans, it was mentioned in my computer magazine recently.

If you use Payday UK through topcashback or Quidco you'll get £50 casback or £20 cashback from Payday Express.

That's if you aren't registered with them already.

Payday loan rates are extortionate though, best to be avoided if at all possible.

TBH you have to be pretty desperate to take out a loan against your next pay cheque. Could not family or friends help you?
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
  • Wonga???> They charge, AFAIK, the highest rate of interest in UK at present - 2,689% (yes, over two thousand five hundred per-cent...)

    !!

try all you can to find an alternative to a pay-day loan - those guys are considered by some fair minded people to be blood-sucking evil b******ds

    Cheers!

  • Could your bank not extend an emergency overdraft or some similar?? Whould deff be cheaper than payday!

Sound advice above! I was in a spot of bother a while back so i phoned my bank and explained the situation to them and they were able to temporarily extend my overdraft for a month, and after that month it automatically reverted back to the original amount.

Payday loans can be a slippery slope and, lets be honest, are a total con! Steer clear unless it really is a last resort!
  • For future reference Paydayuk charge £25 for every £80-£100 borrowed and if you were to use quidco you'll get £50 cashback, so if you borrow say £80 or £100 and pay back £125, with the cashback you would be £25 better off.
Also i assume that this transaction would look good on your credit report, providing you re-pay on time. On that basis if you were to borrow £200 then the re-payment would be £250, but with the £50 cashback you wouldn't worse off, well you would only until the cashback is paid out.
  • And before anyone asks, yes i have taken the minimum loan for said company, but not because i needed to but for the cashback, sorry i have just checked and paydayuk have reduced their cahsback to £40, but still worth it if needed!
There are also other companies that offer cashback on quidco, payday express has almost exactly the same terms as paydayuk but only pays £25 cashback (break evenon £80-£100).
