Photographer for Register Office Wedding

Hi,

I'm looking for a photographer in west midlands.

We are having a register office wedding but every where i look the price are £400+.

We have a very tight budget and only what a few professional photos taken because of the cost. Preferable i would like photos on a disk, so there are no printing costs.

Can anyone recommend a photographer?

Thanx :-)

Sorry can recommend anyone but why dont u try posting an ad on gumtree asking for someone. You might find a student photographer who will do it for free. Or email some of the colleges in brum.
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire

    Have you tried Ebay?
  • Contact a few photographer in your area and ask them how much it would be to cover your wedding. Dont go off what's quoted on their website as sometimes they will give you a good deal. Also, a majority of pro photographers have assistants or other photograhers they know who might work for less if they are building up a business.

    Good luck x

It all works out good in the end.
If it's not good, it's not the end!

There are quite a few advertise on there - we do for quieter periods but are a bit too far away from you to help.

Before you book do the usual checks as with any other photographer - see full examples of whole weddings, ask about insurance etc. At the cheaper end of the market you may not get a full meet and greet at booking stage, but most will have a website (if the client area is password protected ask for a couple of passwords to see full weddings) or ask for a portfolio DVD to be posted as some will do these.

Good luck and hope you find what you want.

Another thing to try, is to look at local photographers you like and then ask if they can 'break' down their package prices. Add a bit of haggling and you may be surprised. Ours quoted a package price, which we didn't need all the elements of, so we asked them to quote a price for 3 hours (instead of usual 6) and without album elements but a CD of non-copywritted images. They were surprised but really accomodating and after a little haggle we got: 3 hours, two photographers and CD of 'at least' 150 images for £300!
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:

    Hi sapphire

A colleague of mine does photography as well as his "day job", he's done lots of portraits and is looking for more wedding work. He offered to do ours but we've got OH's uncle doing ours but one of the girls at work is using him in November this year. I'm not sure of his costs. He's based in Northfield, south Birmingham, if you're anywhere around there. PM me if you would like his details.

    Hope that helps

    Jem xx
