Thankyou 7stephenson,I havent phoned the helpline, bought it from Argos?(special offer £30 off)if it is faulty I thinkthey will take it back with no hassle,My 50/50 wholemeal loaf is still baking in it...only got 1hr14 mins to go until i see if its cooked through and not "damp" like the white loaves have been....feels like its been in there all day..
PS/I did notice that once i filled the pan and placed it in the unit that even after the slight turn it advises in the book, the pan doesnt feel too secure...I now think thats whats causing the rattling and cluncking.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.

When the pan is put into the unit, it should be very tight and not be able to be moved about.
I hope your loaf turned out well but even if it did, you should really take the breadmaker back for an exchange as it really doesn't sound right.0 -
Well, ive just made a hovis granary loaf (using their mix) and it was perfect. So it must be the white mix thats dodgy even though they say its fine. I think I'll give it a month or two before trying the white mix again.
And to think i almost ditched my panny :eek:0 -
Cooking-mama - some Panasonic users reduce the water by about 20ml as they feel the recipes have too much water in them. This may help your damp bread problem. Plus, if you're not doing this already, make sure to cool the bread on a rack to let the steam escape.
Nibs - glad your machine didn't get chucked. It's a weird one though - we're still getting good results from the white mix.

Mine rattles a wee bit bit doesn't jump. However it has started to make loaves that are higher on one side than the other. Always exactly the same shape, and I make a loaf every second day. Doesn't make any difference whether it's white or brown or granary, its always a peculiar shape0

Thanks everyone,I took the breadmaker back to Argos and they agreed that the lid was illfitting and refunded my money,...ive not had much luck with my venture with breadmakers,so...ive decided to try a bootsale/charity shop to buy a 2nd hand cheapy one and use it simply for kneading/proving,then bake in my Remoska or oven.....im assuming breadmakers all knead and prove in similar ways??,(and the panasonic was best at the actual bread baking)therefore i shouldnt need an expensive one.??Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.
