Anyone know how I can convert pdf files to word for free? I don't want cut and paste all the time and sometimes want to alter parts of text.

I thought one of the "advantages" of .pdf format was that the document could NOT be altered once published (i.e. no way of cutting/pasting into Word). So for web-published contracts, T&C's etc it was a preferred format.

Sorry, I don't think there is an easy way to achieve what you want - printing the document off, then scanning into an OCR program might work, but i slong-winded and prone to errors.

Yes. Documents such as brochures, etc. I see on https://www.download.com there are numerouse pdf to word converters, free to try <there may be some totally free> but have no experience of how good they are. Enter 'pdf converter' in download.com's search box or Google.

Yeah, there are free to try converters, unfortunately, as these are demo versions they convert the doc but replace random letter with symbols so you have to purchase. I don't want to pay because it's not something I will use regualrly enough to warrant it.
