converting pdf files to word

Anyone know how I can convert pdf files to word for free? I don't want cut and paste all the time and sometimes want to alter parts of text.

I thought one of the "advantages" of .pdf format was that the document could NOT be altered once published (i.e. no way of cutting/pasting into Word). So for web-published contracts, T&C's etc it was a preferred format.
Sorry, I don't think there is an easy way to achieve what you want - printing the document off, then scanning into an OCR program might work, but i slong-winded and prone to errors.0 -

Yeah, there are free to try converters, unfortunately, as these are demo versions they convert the doc but replace random letter with symbols so you have to purchase. I don't want to pay because it's not something I will use regualrly enough to warrant it.0
