Its not my loan
I have received a letter from a debt collection agency called 1st credit limited.
1st credit are stating that they have bought my debt for a loan of £600, and they want it repaid immediately. I have never had this loan.
I called 1st credit and spoke to an incredibily rude person, who stated that I took out a loan of £500 via the internet, and it was paid into a Barclays Bank current account. I informed this person that I have never applied for this loan and that I do not have a Barclays Bank account, but he was not prepared to listen to me and threatened me with a CCJ.
I have since revieved 3 further letters all saying they will take me to court.
I sent 1st credit the letter off this web site, asking for them to send me a copy of the credit agreement contract, this letter was sent on 16/01/09. I had not heard anymore until yesterday (05/10/09) when the credit agreement was received. It was in my name, on a previous address and the telehone numbers were incorrect. There was also no signature as it stated by clicking I accept (on the computer) this would act as a electronic signature.
Could anyone please help me. I have never applied for this loan. Should I go to the police or a solicitor?
Many Thanks

Could somebody at your old address be impersonating you? I would definitely register with CIFAS, if you do so then if anyone tries to apply for credit in your name then the lender must carry out further checks etc to ensure that it is you.

I can't help re the loan i'm afraid, hopefully someone will be along with some advice soon.
CC debt at 8/7/13 - £12,186.17
Barclaycard £11,027.58
Halifax £1,158.59
5 year plan to live unsecured debt free and move home0 -
Well if the money went into a Barclays account then it will be easy for the police to find out who's account it is.
Go to the police and badger them into giving you a crime reference number - they will probably try to fob you off but persevere.0
