Depends where you live as most bed shops tend to be local or in the case of MFI, Ikea etc a bit of a rip off. The only half decent national one I know is https://www.bensonsforbeds.co.uk A reasonable selection with decent prices and when I bought mine and found a fault they changed it with no quibbles. Otherwise local shops are normally the best.

Also forgot to mention you can haggle there if you only want the mattress or get some pillows or bedding thrown in too. I got £150 off their final sale price and some pillows worth £40 doing that. Ended up being less than half the original price.

I bought mine off Ebay, got a bargain from a place in Glasgow. If I had of bought the exact same bedstead and mattress it would have cost me £1500.00 in my local bed place, I paid approx £800.00 for a super king size leather bedstead and Superior Dorlux Mattress... Well chuffed with it. Believe me I never comprise quality to save a bit of money so would throughly recommend the people that I purchased from! If you want details, please PM me.

Ps. As far as mattress quality goes you need to assess the amount of spring per sq ft or something and pocket sprung are usually best. You can also get foam ones which are also meant to be good...
