Tescos free breakdown service

If u breakdown on any Tescos car park in your car or motorcycle go to the information counter in store. They will contact the RAC who will get you home or to a garage within 10 miles for free. The only condition is you are not a member of any other breakdown service.

Just out of interest, where did you hear about this? I'm a Tesco employee and have never heard of this.

My friend accidentally locked her car keys in her car while in a Tescos car park, and customer service said they would call out AA as it happened in their car park, she'd get that service free. But this isn't exactly free breakdown service is it? Unless your car breaks down in the vicinity of Tescos. Or you could push it to the nearest one! :p
  • I used to work for RAC and when I worked there we did give service if you broke down at a Tesco store. It was only roadside assistance and a local tow, but it was a great free service.

I believe that Adsa have a similar service, but I don't know which breakdown company they have a contract with.

Just go into customer services and ask.

I am also a Tesco employee, and I knew about it. We were told at our induction day.
  • If you look on the trolly parking huts there is an advert stating the free service. Well at the Stockport store there is. I rang them up to ask if it covered motorcycles and they said it did.
  • I broke down in Tesco`s petrol station recently. My husband is a member of RAC but as I was alone, I was not counted as on his cover. Therefore I was pleased to use the Tesco cover free of charge.
