Martin is appearing all this week on Channel 4's Countdown programme.

In yesterday's (Monday's) programme, I'm sure Martin claimed there were 8 million members of moneysavingexpert.com
... but the forum statistics show there are currently only 569,854 members
(and who knows how many of those are duplicate accounts?)
Where does the 8 million come from? Or did I mis-hear?

Whilst on the subject of discrepancies in the programme, I'm also sure one of the contestants asked for a consonant as as final letter in one of the rounds, and despite a card being drawn from the consonant pile, the letter given was 'E' but no one said anything about it:confused:

Do I need a hearing aid and some glasses?:D

Edit: I was going to say this would never have happened in Carol's day ... but apparently it did 3 years ago
... in the next round everybody failed to notice that when I asked for a final consonant, Carol repeated the word consonant and then picked out an E. I only saw this when the show was transmitted on 25th August, ...

    Hey,

The forum, wonderful as it is, is only a portion of MSE as a whole. The main site (www.moneysavingexpert.com) and the forums combined have just under 8 million visitors a months, and 14 million seperate visits (as some people visit more than once! :))

No your eyes and ears are fine, I noticed it too and made a point of watching it on 4OD to check I was correct: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/countdown/4od#2971950
Was thinking to myself, when the heck did E become a consonant
Did you know you can get Viagra software now??? Yeah, it turns your floppy drive into a hard drive :D

I like it when Martin's in dictionary corner, he's always entertaining. Do you think he fancies Rachel Riley? :p

Well why not, I do, she is absolutely gorgeous!

It made me laugh today when you did the train fare comparison with the split ticketing and made the audience gasp with how much you could save on some journeys!

Although you caught me out with the question, I didn't think you could save money calling up 20 minutes before! (Thought some train companies now had a couple of quid charge for seat reservations but maybe I'm wrong!)

When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.
