I have had 3 interviews in the last 2 weeks
Sainsburys - didn't get it.Apparently even after passing their 4 part assesment test in-store I wasnt right for the role - fair enough. requested feedback to help me but got no response
Morrisons - no response after interview nearly 2 weeks ago so clearly didn't get it
Boots - last week, no response up to now and the job starts on 9/10/09 so I have to assume I didnt get that job either
I appreciate they have loads of applicants but only a few get to interview stage surely. So why can't they email/phone/write to let you know the outcome? The Boots selection is all done online prior to interview so whats an email to say yes or no to them?

I'm sorry they have all been so rubbish getting back to you. With literally hundreds of people applying for roles, employers claim they don't have the time to respond which you can half understand but if you've had to jump through hoops just to apply for the jobs, a polite 'no thanks' email doesn't seem unreasonable to expect!
I've applied for around 150-200 jobs since graduating from university 2 years ago, it seems quite typical for companies to do this in my experience. Keep your chin up and keep trying.0 -
Cheers for reply!
I think its the fact I was interviewed then ignored that got me more than anything. Ah well.
I know they ignore applications, some have the decency to say 'owing to large response if you haven't heard from us by...' At least you know then hey?
Good luck to you too0 -
Sorry to hear about rubbish lack of feedback - I know how frustrating it is! Not to mention totally disrespectful when you've spent time and effort applying and attending an interview! But, I had an interview with Morrison's earlier this year and heard nothing for nearly 4 weeks when they offered me a job
Although I didn't take it as had another interview and job offer in the mean time, so you never know how things are going to work out...
It's great that you're getting interviews, I hope you get something soon!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Poddle
Heard back from Morrisons and am now working for them! Took them a while but got there in the end ;o)0 -
Sometimes you hear nothing back because whilst you did not get the job, they may retain your details so that if anyone doesnt reach the expectations they have a pool of reserve labour to call upon rather than doing a whole recruitment process again.0
