Hi,
After months of trying to save the money to do this, I finally have the money together £350.00, let hope its still the same price !
Im hoping to go next week to the court, I filled in all my forms about two months ago, and have been trying to save up the money to pay for it, but you know what its like Ive had to keep borrowing some, then putting it back and borrowing again, well finally I have it, I can't wait.
Is it reallyscary ????? Thanks for everyones help on this board xx:beer:

it's £360 plus £150 court fees, although if you have a low income or claim certain benefits you can waiver the £150 court fees.
I went bankrupt today and no it wasn't scary at all, just a huge relief xx:j Bankrupt 6th October 2009 :j:beer: To a Debt-free Future :beer:0 -
Not half as scary as your imagining it ill be.....have you got proof of benefits if your claiming the court cost fees back? usually they ask for an up to date letter of proof
also a question they'll ask if "have you saught professional advice" meaning have you spoken to CAB CCCS National debtline etc..We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Hi, yes I am on income support, I have phoned them today asking for a letter to say that I claim income support so hopefully will be here in a couple of days, and maybe I can go to the court next week.
I have had advice before these debts are all really old over 8 years or so, was paying them all then 3 years ago was made redundant while pregnant, have been paying small amounts since then, but they are never going to go down so CCCS advised ages ago to claim bankrupt, but I thought i'd still try, now I'm fed up with them calling and writing all the time and am going to declare bankrupt, hopefully its the best thing I can do xx0 -
same here. got first card in 2002, quit job to go to uni late 2004, lived beyond my means on 2 more cards and student overdraft etc. been unemployed for about 9 months now. never finished uni in the end, so job options aren't great and ive just been paying minimum payment on direct debit each month on my cards for years. and the overdraft is only interest free for so long. the debts aren't going down and when i do get a job the debt would make it impossible to save money or have enough money to live and pay my rent, so going to go bankrupt. Seeing CAB drop in centre this week just to say ive been, I've already made my mind up. Just want it to go through as quick as possible now. Aiming to fill the form out, get all required benefit documents posted out to me, and ring the court appointment number by Friday afternoon.0

Hi, process of going to court not actually scary, I think it is more thought of what will happen there, will you be asked any questions etc... I was declared bankrupt this morning at ten to nine ( about the time I was parking my car!) and had been told to get to court for half nine. I was given my paperwork and bankruptcy notice and left. The or office rang two hours later and arrnaged my interview for two weeks time. Hopefully going to court will be that painless for you too!!0

If you have exact money I'd phone the court to make sure how much it is and if there are any 'extras'. My court RCJ charged to swear an oath and I wasn't expecting to pay that. Anyway when you ring for your appointment or to ask the procedure in your particular court, just ask.

Here is the link
http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/
You need to confirm
a) which is the correct court for your address
b) their BR procedure (not all courts operate the same system)
c) exact amount for everything
