I too am doing everything right and getting nowhere. However can feel very noble for having baked a birthday cake instead of going out and buying one thus saving around 6 pounds. I do have to say tho, a dalek on the bought one would probably look a little better than my attempt which looks more like Mrs Pepperpot on a bad day!!

Well done for making the cake. I bet it tastes better. I've made a load of meals for the freezer...sheperds pie, lasagne, chicken korma....and done some baking. Hubby came home and thought he'd entered the wrong house! Feeling tired but happy!

I've been ever so good this week - case of having to as I need to pay my suppliers lots of money! Freezer meals every night (only spent about £8 so far on milk tinned toms etc) and have walked down the to bus every morning and night instead of paying the extra fare. I have a weekly ticket that saves me £15 a week, butt he boundary for this is a 20 min walk. Saves me on a gym membership too, and DD loves sitting in her pram like a little queen squealing at the cows on the way.

I just hope I can keep it up!
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

I've been on a course today which provided a free lunch , so that saved me money! And lovely grub it was too!

I also got 3 work tops and a pair of trousers from matalan for £16.00, I know its spending money, but I've seen the day where I would have spent £16.00 on just a work top :o

Haven't really done much thats DFW style today. Was gunning for a no spend day but ended up spending £7 in tesco (grrrrr)!

However have written up another letter to send to Abbey regarding cancelling the PPI on my credit card, oh and BT £1100 over to new lower APR card. It's not the whole balance but its something!

So thats bout all I've done to save myself some money today.Made dinner today from fridge and cupboard, but did need to supplement, hence trip to Tesco, hence the £7 but I'm not beating myself up about that!

Tommorrow is a new day and all that!

    I haven't done a great deal today:

Got lifts to & from work = no bus fare
    Took HM lunch (as always)
Shopped at Tesco in lunch hour and got several things cheaper than they would have been at Sainsburys...and also saved on petrol by walking to supermarket
I got 3% pay rise too which is effective of 1st April so will get backdated pay in may's salary. I guess it won't make much difference though as the tax will probably eat most of it up and although 3% is better than nothing, it's not going to make a huge amount of difference - but I am thankful for at least having a job & getting something in these troubled times (I read of lots more redundancies at Vauxhall today...)

  • Went shopping with the lady I work for as a carer and didn't buy a thing. (Was tempted in the pound shop but resisted!!! There were some nice England mugs as well but stayed strong!!!)

Got a letter from the tax credits office to say we owe them £495 from last year that will have to be paid back out of our current award which means we will be about £11.00 a week worse off now. Rent has just gone up by a fiver a week too. So am £16 a week out of pocket without spending a bloody bean:mad:

Daughter left school today so comes September will lose family allowance for her if she decides not to stay on. Hope she finds some work by then so she can start paying board.:rotfl:
