Enhanced Disclosure

Hi

I hope I've put this in the right place. Is there a website that I can apply for an enhanced disclosure on myself?

I want to see what information (if any) is on there.

Apparently I have to go through an 'umbrella' company to obtain one but I can't seem to find one that I could apply for online.

Thanks

Well as far as I know an individual cannot apply for one.

Who can apply for a CRB Check?

CRB checks cannot be obtained by members of the public directly but are only available to organisations and only for those professions, offices, employments, work and occupations listed in the Exceptions Order to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
For this reason your application will be processed either by your employer, if it is registered with the CRB, or a third party organisation, called an Umbrella Body, which is registered with the CRB

This is from the Criminal Records Bureau government website

Lilly is right, it's checked by employers and agencies prior to you taking up a job working with vulnerable adults or with children.

    It show:
Police records of convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings.
Information from the list held under section 142 of the Education Act 2002
Protection of Children Act List information
Protection of Vulnerable Adults list information
Other relevant information disclosed at the chief police officers discretion.

Points 2-4 are lists of people deemed unsuitable to work with children/vulnerable adults (e.g. if you are sacked for abusing someone I think)

I'd really like to see mine too. It seems a bit sinister that the police could possibly be making all sorts of unproven allegations without the candidate having a right to reply.

So how could I check to see if there is any information like that on my file? Is there a product similar to enhanced disclosure that will detail every warning/caution etc?

I paid £10 for a subject access report from the Police, however it came back with absolutely nothing. I have had a warning and caution during my teens years so I would have thought those details would have been on the SAR from the Police.

You will get a copy of the CRB report, they send a copy to you and a copy to your employer.
That's how I know what it's on it, from my own copy.

Please note that any "Other relevant information disclosed at the chief police officers discretion" is often NOT declared to you but IS declared to your potential employer.

Junk, what makes you say that?
In mine all boxes look the same and say none recorded.
What would it say if there were comments from the CPO?

I have never seen one for staff though, only HR can see them. I've always assumed that they are the same...

    That is not correct.

Terra Ferma - This is from the CRB website

"Occasionally the Chief Police Officer may, if thought necessary in the interests of the prevention or detection of crime, release ‘additional’ information to the Countersignatory only, in the form of a separate letter.
Where the police issue a separate letter, the Countersignatory’s copy of the Enhanced Disclosure will contain the following words ‘Please refer to letter sent under separate cover’, printed under the ‘date of issue’ on the Disclosure.
Please note, the applicant’s copy of the Disclosure will not refer to this information. Please do not share this information with the applicant"

    I would have never known...
As an employer it would put me in a very sticky situation not to give someone a job because of information that cannot be disclosed to them. It would entitled them to take further action, but... it's a criminal offence to disclose it.

    Ridiculous!
