Rechargable batteries

I want to buy some Uniross Ni-MH AAA rechargable batteries for my daughters MP3 player and also get her some for our digital camera as she is going to do a photography course.
I already have a Uniross fast charger for Ni-cad/Ni-MH batteries which will be able to charge both sizes but what I want to know is, can I buy batteries that have a different capacity to the ones that came with the charger? It has an automatic switch off feature but surly this is set for the 2000MAH batteries that it came with?
I can't find batteries with the same capacity, the AAA will be 900MAH and the AA 2300MAH
Thanks,
Sarah

Thanks Weymouth man, I think I have got it sorted out now though. As Skint1 suggested I contacted Maplin who said my charger would be ok so I bought 4 uniross 900mah batteries on Ebay (not bad at £5.75 inc p&p) and although I haven't used then yet I was assured they would be ok.
Many thanks though, will check out the link anyway
