PAYG Mobile

Looking for the cheapest PAYG Mobile. Just lost my trusty NOKIA which was about 5 years old and weighed the same as a brick. Can't understand what has happened to it - if I'd dropped it I would have noticed, especially if it landed on my foot. Also, no sane person would have nicked it!

Hoping to receive free O2 and Vodafone Sims thanks to MSE but need a phone to use them on. Not really bothered about appearance or fancy bits, just want to be able to make and receive calls and texts.

Thanks.

These phones are on the VIRGIN network although most can be unlocked quite easily.

  • Just checked and the cheapest is now £49.99.

I'm sure you can get one cheaper than that, I'll have a look around for you....
  • Thanks for your help - but don't go to any trouble, just keep your eyes and ears open!

    Muchos gracias.

Orange website was doing the Nokia 3510i for £24.99, Orange shop is doing the same phone for £19.99 but you need a working phone to get £10.00 trade in otherwise it's £29.99.

I bought one the otherday, in went my old dodgy 3210 which kept loosing signal and out came a shiny 3510i for my daughter.

Phone comes with sims card, but if you want to use a different sims just unlock it and sell on the orange sims. Plenty of sites out there giving free codes

Bought one of those, (can't remember who to thank now), but they look quite neat.

    For the price anyway ;)
  • Thanks guys, think I might go for the Sagem. Found out from Vodafone that I can transfer my old number over at no charge provided I use a Vodafone SIM. And they will transfer the remaining credit on my phone to the new one. Sure the old one is around the house somewhere, hidden by the two year old, but don't know where to start. Hubby's went missing last year and turned up after a week inside an old welly!

tesco are offering some good deals on their own payg network ( they use the o2 network) . 3 favorite numbers 10p min at any time ( any standard mobile network or landline) and texts 5p, all other calls 20p min any time and texts 10p. they've got a good selection of phones as well, a sendo camera phone for £70 which looks quite good. i will be changing when my contract expires.
  • My Sagem my-x2 arrived this morning (ordered on the 5th so good service from Orange). Seems so small and light after my Nokia circa 1998 but good value methinks. Just waiting for my free Vodafone Sim courtesy of MSE and I will be back in business. Many thanks for the tip.
