You might be surprised with Quorn to be honest, Im a meat eater, and I love it ( started eating it when I was on a diet, cant go back) Quorn roast is really really good, and served in the same way you might serve a turkey roll ( which I wouldnt eat nowadays)
Quorn mince you can do a nice chilli, rice garlic bread. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
hi, havnt got any amazing reciepes to hand, but as a strict veggie and a fussy eater!!!......do check with your guests first. There are so many different types of veggie. i dont like cheese and most people assume all veggies like cheese......also as i am a strict veggie so would have to check all ingrediants are vegetarian...(i know we are a pain!!):-).......i just wouldnt want any of your efforts to go to waste.....i know alot of the above reciepes contain cheese so make sure they are vegetarian cheese.....good luck0

Thanks for all your ideas. I'll let you know what I cook and how the weekend goes!
They might be arriving overnight tonight or sometime tomorrow, so I'd better go a do some tidying up!"No matter how little money and how few possesions you own, having a dog makes you rich." - Louis Sabin0 -
As a follow on from aimme's post about strict veggies, if you're going to do a roast on sunday, just remember to cook the potatoes separate from the meat and in oil rather than lard/goose fat. Also some veggie gravy is always appreciated, I've eaten a lot of dry roasts where people haven't realised that gravy contains meat! I'm sure most people know these, but it always used to confuse my nan why I wouldn't eat her roast potatoes!£2 Coin Savers Club £14 :j (joined 18/2/06)0

Bisto do vegetarian gravy granules (green tub) so it's worth having one in the house just in case. They are fine with non-veggie food too. I know granule gravy is a bit of a cheat, but when you have visitors you want to be with them, not stuck in the kitchen fiddling about!
You're lucky that your guests are okay with Quorn. Some people (including me) are terribly allergic to it, with "you don't want to know" consequences! I'm just mentioning this in case other people use this thread for guidance in similar situations. It would be wise to check with them first.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I had a fantastic recipe for a veggie lasagne that I served to my veggie friend last week. She loved it and we loved it (confirmed meat eaters both OH and I!). I got it from the February Good Food magazine. Unfortunately, I can't post the recipe here as it would contravene copyright rules.
However, have a look here on the BBC Food website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/vegetablelasagnewith_7054.shtml
Instead of the tomatoes in the recipe, use passata.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0
