Credit Check On Address Question?

I'm filling in a credit check form right now and I have a question. It looks like it is only going to be for a credit check on my name wheras what I really want is a credit check on the property. i.e. has anything the previous owner(s) done ever affected my credit rating now that I am living here. Is there any way I can do that?

And please don't recommend Experian, I've had sooooo much trouble with them in the past.

    you will only be able to search on yourself i think

    it would be against data protection to give you credit info of anyone else

    i believe a solicitor can do a bankruptcy/ccj search

    Have you tried Experian? :confused::p;)

    Seriously though I'm sure your credit rating can't be harmed by other people who live/have lived at the same address as you. :confused:

    It used to be the case where it could but not so long ago they changed the rules. I'm pretty sure I haven't dreamed that! :rolleyes: :D

    SS is right - otherwise our credit rating would be trashed - the people living here before us are still be chased for allsorts of debts, have CCJs and everything but it hasn't affected our credit.

    Companies aren't allowed to blacklist addresses anymore.

    Thanks everyone.

    The only reason I ask is because I accidentally opened a letter yesterday for the man who used to live here. I've been living here since 2002 and have no idea where he moved to. The letter was from a loan company confirming that his £16,000 loan would be transferred into his bank account in about a weeks time. I'm a bit concerned that he is applying for loans still under this address and if he defaults he is going to make this address look unsafe.
