Someone knock some sense into me - urgent

I went on a GP link the other week and played bingo or something. I came out on tops, by about £40 (incl GP cash)
A pal of mine tried a bingo site and instantly won £500.
I was 'bored' earlier, so I gambled £10 away.
I am so tempted to add another £10, but I already know that I have to gamble another £52.50 to get anything in a payout.
ARGH
I am never normally like this, what is going on???
Please talk some sense to me. I am even hiding this from my hubby
*cringe*

Dont do it.
Online gambling is the biggest growth business in IT today. Check out BBC or another news website to see what big business it is. Where are those profits coming from? Losers.
Do not undo all your hard work, for gods sake. Slicing back to save a tenner, its hard work, and youve been committed. If you absolutely MUST gamble, go to gala or wherever it is on a tuesday where games are ten quid all in. At least you can see who exactly it is who actually wins and loses. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
DO NOT GO NEAR ANY OTHER SITES
STAY HERE ON MSEJust run, run and keep on running!0 -
GW,
you have been working so hard for you AND hubby! You know it's not worth it, or you wouldn't have asked us.
Just remember
.. when you are asking hubby to cut back, you need to lead by example
.. what example are you setting your kids?
.. you should ony gamble money you have spare and at last time we caught up, you ain't got money spare, and won't have until hubby is sorted.
.. you're PERSONALLY funding your mate's win - would you have handed her over a tenner for nothing???
I'm sure there was another thread on online gambling where someone suggested putting on a blindfold to change your passwords so you can't remember what they are to get in - GO DO IT!!!Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -

Thanks guys, I'm not normally like it at all, so I really don't understand it.
I can shut down the account, but I have entered some prize draws with my points for depositing dosh. So being really stupid here, I don't want to shut the account just in case I win the £250.
I haven't been back to the site since posting this, so I think I am 'safe' and that I have resumed my normal sense.
Do I shut it down, or do I resist, know that I am stupid and hope that I win the money in the prize draw

SLAP
NO NO NO Greenwellies please no!!!!
You've been my inspiration just lately!!!!
You've had so much go on just lately, so many big changes, all to try and help yourself in the future. This kind of thing will just drag you back!!!
It's not worth it! I didnt mean to slap youbut its just not worth it, like with anything its a slippery slope downhill. One gamble leads to another, one drink leads to another, if you're me, one pair of shoes leads to another!_pale_
Next time you're bored, come on here and post a thread, it'll keep you talking and away from those horrible gambling sites.
:grouphug:
Other option next time you feel tempted to put another £10 into your gambling pot, if you've got the cash in your hand, go out and buy a nice bottle of wine or something, which you would get for less than that anyway!!!
And put the change in your savings pot!
If you haven't got the cash in your hand, punish the temptation by going out, for a walk to the cash point, take out that £10 and walk home with it, by the time you get home something else will have cropped up to amuse you, or you'll be so annoyed with yourself, you wont want to gamble it away!!!
Keep strong, smile through the pain and look forward to the end of the tunnel where you can step out into the light xxWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Shut it down, quite frankly, you have more chance of being shot down in lightening than winning that. If you must do competitions do pigsback ones or other internet ones instead. the whole point of the 250 is to get people to keep thier accounts open. Just close it. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

right I am going to shut the account now.
I feel so stupid, I thought I could be clever and win!
I wouldn't mind, I have so much to do that spending time messing about on the internet is the last thing I should be doing
Thanks
