Got a bargain I couldn't pass by.
12 fishbowls, 12 round mirrors, 12 jars of crushed ice, 48 tea light holders, beargrass and 12 flowers for inside, all for £70. Going to pick them up next week from a girl local to me.
Trouble is, the flowers are deep red, but I think I want pink.
What flowers can you get, that are artificial, which can float??
I know gerberas can as they are flat, but I can't think of anything else?!
Also does anyone know where I'd get them cheap? Depending on the size of them, I'd need either 12 or 24.
Or can I do anything to the red flowers? Spray them perhaps?

Shell ,
This maybe a bad idea or not, but if the flowers are artificial, , why not soak one in water with a little bleach to fade the colour , if you like the colour you can then do the restJust a thought ...

You might just be onto something there Mandi! :T
If I'm not gonna use the red flowers and it doesn't work, then I've lost nothing have I!
Will save me hunting down pink flowers if it works.
Ooh can't wait to try it now lol, will have a go next week when I pick it all up and I'll post back to say how it went! xxTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

what about a single lily head in all the fish bowls? a friend of mine had this and her theme was just ivory but she had a chance for light pink lillies to float, i think it would be lovley with your floating candles in there too
or how about just having red as your theme? mum got married on saturday and she had claret red bridesmaid dresses and the whole theme with claret, was stunning

Spray them! A florist once told me they sprayed many flowers (silk) as a lot of the caribbean ladies like blue (or did then) and if it was roses they were specifically after they had to be sprayed.0

I'm getting married in the same place she got married, and she emailed me after seeing my posts about the venue on a wedding forum. We chatted for a few weeks then she mentioned the stuff so i bit her hand off for it lolstef240377 wrote: »Is it possible to buy a cheap bunch of gerbras (or any other larger headed flower) the day before and just have the heads floating in the water rather than trying to coil them up?
Proabably but I want pink and not sure where I'd get a load of fresh pink the day before the wedding, especially in october?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
