Loansathome4U - Look majorly dodgey! Argos seems to be tied in with it
Hi Guys,
I have just received a door drop of very poor quality letter (printed on a home printer in draft mode to save ink) from a company call Loansathome4U offering a special loan promotion for gift vouchers.
£200 which will give you £260 of vouchers to spend in Argos for £10 for 32 weeks.
I want to say.... Stay away very dodgy.
I have Google them and found their web site claiming 65 years of experience, their website is very untrustworthy as the site only has two pages linking to it, which from a reputation point of view very untrustworthy
I can easily see the elderly and the vulnerable to take up on the offer in the run up to Christmas, please keep an eye out for these door drops.
Let your family and friends know.
Regards,
Matthew

Is that advertising in your signature ?
Your info lists the website so I strongly suspect it is0 -
I use them nothing dodgy to me, apart from the intrest rates:rolleyes: but due to my bad credit rating (which I'm slowly building back up:D) they were my only option. Though the person whom collects my money works for a different company name but they are part of loansathome4u.0

MJLawson1,
Perhaps you might like to copy & post the letter so we know what to look for0 -
Around our way they offer £50 in Argos Vouchers and you pay back 6 lots of £10, we must be low rent...0

I've had a look at their website, plus the websites of the company behind it and it looks OK to me. It looks like the there is a group of companies that is now trading under the one name. Maybe the lack of links is down to the website being new(ish)?
I think your biggest beef seems to be that they have tried to save a bit on the ink used to print your flyer. Perhaps they should put their rates up a bit more to afford decent printers - would you be happy with that? :rotfl:
Let's face it, for those in the right frame of mind, EVERY lender could appear dodgy. At least this one is still in business.0 -
In my defence your honour!!
I have worked as a self employed agent for the company(no advertising) for the past 4 years and would like the public to hear it from the horses mouth so to speak.
The door drop you refer to wasn't printed by the company, but probably by an agent like myself who is trying to increase his/her journey or round using their own equipment and not, as you summise, to save ink. They are not, as you put it dodgy. just a growing business trying to grow bigger and the web site is new hence a couple of pages.
I provide excellent customer care and advice to my "old and vulnerable people", as well as a shoulder to cry on if needed. an a trip to the shops if I have time.
I take a great pride in the fact I have made so many friends from my job. In fact my customers are like an extended family.
You should maybe try it before you cast judgement on me and all the people like me who provide this service to the public. Loansat home4you is what it says it is! Real, Fair and Personal and True.
I have met personally the sons of the man who started the company 65 years ago which they went on to inherit.
nice people actually.
Please tell that! to all your friends and family.

i`m always so so suspicious when i thread like this develops and as if by magic a new member jumps up in defence....maybe im just a cycnic,or maybe 51 years has taught me something???0

Well maybe you are a cynic John? I came across the forum as I googled our new website to see what it was like and the forum showed up! I currently have 200 customers on my round and I treat them all with the care and respect they deserve. I don't like the idea of people who don't know what they are talking about, judging me or the company, without any proof, as dodgy. I'm trying to earn a living and those kind of remarks don't help.0

Has it taught you to read? The poster clearly identifies themselves as an agent for the company, so I don't see the problem.....0
