  • Why didnt you take them out the bag and sit the bag just inside the door? You would have had your till reciept if the security guard jumped out.
Did it not worry you about the cardboard box? Yes, you'll recycle it, could you not recycle the bag?
Think outside the box (or bag!).
    No problems, only solutions.

Just take the bag back next time you are passing.

Maybe the problem wouldn't have happened if you carry a bag on you, so that the assistant could put the box into it, so it doesn't look like you are just walking out with a box of trainers. I always have a reusable bag on me now when I go shopping.

I didn't want to just leave the bag there without giving it to someone as it will be littering.

I will reuse the bag at home.

My local council does not readily recycle plastic but does cardboard, which is why I was happy with just a box.

Criticism isn't a solution. I was merely pointing out the shop's policy.

I do always have a bag on me, but the box was too large to fit in, or the shoes on their own, as I had other shopping in there.

Think I'll delete this thread as I wasn't posting for criticism.
