We've blagged 40 'ENVI' energy monitoring devices for MoneySavers to see what they think and hopefully save some cash, in addition to helping the environment. They usually cost around £40 each, plus postage and packaging.

According to the device's blurb...

If we all do our bit to stop wasting electricity we can reduce our CO2 and together help the planet by cutting our emissions.

It starts with every one of us doing everything we can to reduce our use of electricity. And that's where the CC128 ENVI can help. It won't cut your fuel bills on its own. That's your job. But it can show you how much energy, and money, you're wasting and help you change your habits.

To do this you need to be registered for the Forum (if you're not, when you click reply you'll be taken through the process. It's free, of course).

The 40 people who get a monitor will be picked at random (we've a special little computer programme to do it) and announced in next week's email (if you don't already get the email go to www.moneysavingexpert.com/tips).

The company providing these devices will send them out directly though, to aid administration, this won't happen until all 40 winners have provided their name and address. So it may take a few weeks between the giveaway's end and actual receipt. This thread will be updated to let winners know when they have been sent out.

Whether you win an ENVI monitor or not, anyone can sign up to the 10:10 pledge, a national campaign for everyone to cut their carbon emissions by 10% in 2010 through using less energy, food, water etc. Around 30,000 individuals and organsations have already signed up.
