Laura's adventure with Flannel Reindeers

Ooooh, I love those little reindeers. I might just have to make some to go with my handcrafted soaps
Just a quick word of warning...
To either make soap or to remove packaging from soap and give it as a gift is ILLEGAL unless you hold the relevent safety assessments for the items carried out by a chartered chemist. ALL cosmetic items must also be labelled correctly with full INCI names for ingredients, batch numbers and you must keep a product information file detailing all relevent information.
If you do not do any of the above you are breaking the law and could be prosecuted - even if just giving it to your mum for christmas!0 -
If anyone has a Ponden Mill near them, they sell packs of 6 facecloths for 99p!

Hi there,
I love the idea but I was just wondering how everybody intends on wrapping their Reindeer? I am already making pots of gold so I'd like to avoid celephane if possible!

That's ok- the soap mix is from a site which sells pre-certified mixes and provides necessary documentation. I had already considered this as I may have one or two surplus and thought I would sell them to colleagues to re-coup some losses so had checked the necessary legalities.
Even if I didn't, I doubt my mum would dob me in0 -
Visited the craft shop today and have bought most of the rest of my materials.
Have got 5x oatmeal colour and 5 x cream. Total £2.90 as they were 29p each
Pipecleaners- £1.30
Googly eyes- £1.75
Red Pompoms- £1.60
Running Total-
Total cost- £11.29
CPR- £1.13p
I will have quite a few red pompoms surplus so I may put some of them on ebay. A few pennies back is better than nothing!0 -
Sounds good to me!
You just need to make sure you reproduce the labels with all of the relevant information to attach to each one. So long as you're not adding anything at all to the soap base it will be fine
If you have any pompoms and bells left over please let me know and I will take some off your hands.

On the wrapping front... I'm just not sure yet. Some I may just 'present' as them as they are. I think cellophane may detract from their antlers... Hmmm.
Ideas from others would be welcome0 -
