Options
sorry if this is the wrong place

i done a big shop in asda yest and got some bits in for xmas, they no longeer had the carlsberg for £5 so i got a promotion on stella which was £7 (the silver stella) when i got hom i noticed they charged me almost £11.50 for it, so i rang them expecting to take my reciept back today and get a refund. and was told i had to take the crate of beer and the reciept back if i wanted a refund.......i am nearly 6 months preg and cant carry a crate all the way to asda and back again....just to get my own money!! all i can do is get a taxi there a back and that works out more than my refund.

i have emailed asda.com and they said it would take a few days to reply.

what do i do i feel like they have just conned me

I can't see why they would need to see the case as the receipt has the barcode number on it.

Have you told them that you're pregnant and can't carry the case back to them?

i had something similar at Tesco, apart from the Night Manager wanted me to take all my shopping back.
I duely did and he said there was nothing he could do until the morning.
i called the manager the next day and they said they had no such policy and shouldve given a refund on viewing the receipt. And a £30 gift card for my troubles.

phone back and ask to speak to the manager, customer service manager of the checkput manager. they (in my experience) have more knowledge and understanding.

your talking about 3.50 quid right? maybe put it down to experience and check the receipt in store next time. the time and effort needed to deal with asda will not do you much good, unless you really need that money

If everyone did as you have suggest Dave then the profits of the supermarkets will just get bigger and bigger. Why not let them take a percentage of our wages for nothing every week? Mccsavage has a right to a refund and the shop should make it easy for her, if not then she should make it hard for them, not just roll over and play dead!
  • Hmm does Dave work for Asda? haha a bit unsympathetic I felt

If it was a big shop not necessarily easy to notice an almost £4.50 overcharge (not £3.50)

Not everyone checks the receipt after their purchases.

thanks for replying. i did as someone suggested and spoke to the manager, who actually laughed when i told what was said and that i had been stewing all day. she said take the recipt back tomorrow and i can pick up my refund - without taking the beer

and as for needing the money dave - that is true, as a mum of 5 every penny counts!!!

thanks for all your replys xx
