She said she's going to quote this post to her RE teacher. :D

Well get her to correct the spelling/grammatical mistakes first then...

Thanks Ames, I'm a bit stunned to be honest - last year they were full of excuses as to why they couldn't support him more, and why he couldn't get extra help, and why they couldn't apply for more funding. This year they are pretty much saying sod the expense, Ryan needs this help, so he's going to get it.

Not sure why they have had such a change of heart, but I'm very glad.
Snaggs - the cynic in me suggests that they're scared you'd report them to OFSTED for being shoite and failing a child in need of help! The rest of me just thinks that it's good for Ryan to have the support he needs and can now enjoy school.

It's awful Sammy. Just trying to find out how much it is for a new box

I hope you find the keys hun. Have you checked friveway/garage to see if you dropped em
Spud - I wish I'd known about this three hours ago... before I gave my old box to my parents. Have you checked ebay (for people getting rid of boxes when they've upgraded from normal sky to sky+)? Other places to check are freegle or freecycle. Good luck and if parents say they don't want the old box I'll put your name on it!

Cat~roughly how much did you pay for laptop?
Beanie it was £245 (without VAT or delivery charge). That said, I did a spec comparison and the exact same make/model was going to £517:eek:. I decided that I'd be happy with a scratched/dented model if it saved me over 50% of the cost!:D and I feel all :Afor getting more than what I wanted at a price I'm very happy with!

Sal, I think we have to accept that we are human, and sometimes we f*ck up royally, and do things that are wrong, risky, ill thought out or just plain stupid, and we have to live with the consequences, but that doesn't mean we are bad people.

I seem to be queen of the stupid mistake at the moment, and the consequences are more far-reaching than I'd imagined, but we have to be kinder to ourselves and forgive ourselves a bit, otherwise we will go insane.

I think the cynical bit of you is absolutely right, there is almost certainly an element of that. I also think the other bit of you is right, and the reasons don't really matter, only the results. Pity it takes the first bit to achieve the second bit though really - I guess not all parents will fight, and what happens to those kids?

Aww thanks hun, give me a shout if they decide they dont want it. I'm still an ebay-phob, so cant get one there. Looked on Sky website, and the box is £199 for existing customers

I suppose being a DFW I should manage without, but we're being digitalised () early next month, so need some sort of box. Our telly has freeview built in, but i havent a clue how to tune it in :o

there are a couple of "minutes" I'd want to bottle up forever and dig out whenever I need a lift ...

the first perfect moment is 11.14am on 7th April this year when Evie was dragged screaming from me and my heart felt like it was going to burst.

the second perfect moment is when I looked into the ex bf's eyes and the world seemed to wobble and I could hardly breathe cos that was when I realised, just like magic, that I loved him and I knew that he loved me too.

I have a scarf that belonged to my grandmother and smells faintly of timeless by Avon. Every time I'm sad I can go and bury my face in the scarf and it's almost like she's here again and giving me a hug.

It'll be in the instructions which came with the telly. That's that little book with words and pictures and stuff in it... ;)

  • I don't think I have any perfect moments. Perhaps when I was kid. Just being on Holiday with my folks was always good.

None as a grown up tho!
