Default Notices

Hi,

I've received a couple of default notices for 2 CC's I have , frustrating and scary. I had paid the bills but was a few days late in paying last month's bill and the month before. I had thought a default notice is for a completely missed payment, rather than a late payment. Can anyone clarify that for me?

Thanks in advance.

Not too sure about this but it may be worth calling the bank if all payments are up to date right now. It may have been an automated thing that they can override. They may look on this a technically being a breach of the agreement so the default may stand.

Are you able to transfer the funds to another card?
How long does the default notice give you to make payment before the default goes on your credit file?

  • Thanks George. The cards are up to date. I will phone and speak to them. I don't have another card to transfer them to.
