i keep getting calls at work from an automated dialler saying they can wipe ot my debts due to loans being unenforcable. how can a loan be unenforcable? i dont have any pre 2007 anyway so couldnt claim but just wondered what is wrong with certain agreements. presumably these companies charge so if people knew what to look for then maybe they could do it for free where relevant

They are scammers - they ask for an upfront fee to supposedly check your loan and credit card documents and pretend to be able to clear the debts as unenforceable.
There has not been one case of these companies actually winning but you know what people say about a fool easily parting with his money!0 -
There has been quite a few successful cases this year (thorius vs mbna Oct 09, mitchell vs bos june 09, walker vs spml mar 09)
Some companies charge upfront (avoid in my opinion) but search and you will find one or two that don't charge (i.e. they get costs back from lender and insure the case).0
