Shock Waves Gel £1.35

Forgive me if this has been posted.

But Morrisons are selling tubes of shockwaves gel, with 33% extra free for £1.35. Had a very excited customer running back for more! I don't use gel myself, prefer wax, but it's a pretty good bargain. Normally around £3 I think.

What's the difference between gel and wax. I use was to texture my hair and hold bits in place - does gel do this?

Wax is whack and gel is not
  • Gel - in general holds your hair in a "stiff" hold style. If you have short hair and want to go for a "spiky" or some other gravity defying style then this would be best.

Wax - Gives your hair more of a natural style without the "stiff" look to it and more of a softer texture. If your trying to get the "just out of bed" look or need to smooth your hair and hold it in a certain position naturally then wax is your best bet.

    And no I'm not a hairdresser :P

Hair gels are a con! Marmalade works just as well, just beware of bees in the Summer! ohhh and bears where indigenous......

    Thanks Delmontebanana

That was exactly what I wanted to know. I have used wax to define my hair and keep my fringe in place but gel seems to be flavour of the month so I was curious.

    Ha.

I prefer wax as you can restyle your hair through the day, whereas gel tends to make your hair hard so you are stuck with it if it goes wrong.
Plus I prefer the look of waxed hair.

Just don't put too much on! Makes it greasy and manky.

    Gotta love a freebie :)

I've got some spare "gel" if anyone's interested. (girl prefered)

My experience of hair gel reductions...

I got 3 of these http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1059043 Zirh hold (normally 100ml for £14) when they were on 3 for 2 and there was also I think an offer of 1000 extra points (am guessing it was a leaked code figleaves style to work on such a low spend). So around £7 each. But to be honest it's crap and hardly worth the money, works when put on but the effect seems to disappear within a few hours. So even at that price not a good deal me thinks lol.

I found Trevor Sorbie Glosser is much better and cheaper lol.
