Grapes for wine

Hi All
A neighbour has kindly given me a load of grapes from his vine as he is leaving UK and has not got time to make them into wine this year. I used to make wines years ago (quite successfully), but never from grapes.
I do not have any demijohns or equipment nowadays so will need to get some - but working full time, not sure when I'll be able to acquire them, (certainly not this week). My question is - can I simply freeze the grapes until I have the necessary stuff? I know sometimes wines are left on vines to freeze - but would they be OK once off the vine in this case?

I freeze most things for wine making. I find that it takes me so long to collect all the 'fruit' I require that I have to freeze it as I go. At present I have 12 lbs of rose hips in the freezer that I am going to make into 4 galls of rosehip sherry when I have the time and yesterday I defrosted 20lbs of elderberrys to set off 5 galls of wine.0

Thanks Missychrissy. Yes I used to freeze fuit for wine making in the past as well, but I don't know if grapes will be OK - being a delicate flavour etc? I am going to assume so and give it a go. If it doesn't work - well I'll buy some grape juice and ferment that instead. Sssh! No one will be told......
BTW I used to make rose petal wine as well - absolutely lovely.0 -
