MG - whilst I actually like your site , and think there's certainly a place for its "service" I do personally have concerns in the way its "promoted " here on mse - ( I won't go into long details again)
This post for one highlights the fact that most people need the benefits of an adviser.
( BTW surprised at some of the commission rates your site quotes , would have though you would have access to higher rates due to volume or a club membership . I guess the FSA are now keeping a close eye on % of non advised sales , its neeed been suggested lenders may cut commissions paid if full advice is not provided)Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
Stop ganging up on the Genie you whole of market advisors. Theres no harm in punters here knowing there is an alternative to advice (no such thing as a free lunch) which is an execution only service plus a rebate.
He's not the only person to have a link on his homepage to a business......theres hundreds if not thousands of posters here that do that. He's not the only poster to suggest clicking on their name to find out their Regulatory details.
And he is just posting comments like the above for discussion and help, rather than using this site to drive his business.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
Back on topic.
Contacted my current mortgage lender, Birmingham Midshires, last week as my current deal is coming to an end in July. Luckily for me they offered me a rate of 6.7% variable, couldnt believe my good luck.0 -
does not work all the time...
Strange though I have clients that have been offered renewal deals below 5% with BM ( not the best but better than 6.7% ) although Midshires old branch customers and Midshires broker business was dealt with differently ( he was a broker division client)Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -

I'm confused, 6.7% is a huge rate isn't it?
I thought my 5.5% offset rate wasn't very impressive!
