E:U: 10 Philips DVD+RW blanks for £9.99

PC World are selling packs of 10 Philips DVD+RW discs in jewel cases for £9.99 which is half their normal selling price., and also cheaper than ordering elsewhere online if you only want 10.

PC World are sold out online, but available instore.

I bought 20 (2-packs) from Solihull today, and there were plenty left.

Apologies if this is a stupid question but I don't know much about DVD's and having bought a Panasonic DVD recorder today I am told I need DVD-R or DVD - RAM discs - don't suppose these were on offer in PC World were they ?
Any advice on best type would be much appreciated

I don't know if PC World had any offers on DVD-R.

But I also bought 100 Infiniti DVD+R for £28 today from the computer fair at the NEC Motorcycle museum in Birmingham. The DVD-R discs were about a few pence cheaper, but I have both a Philips DVD recorder and a PC DVD that takes either DVD+R or -R.

Try these online stores that I have used before.

Personally I would go to bigpockets.co.uk and order the Ritek doublesided DVD-RAM disc(9.4GB) in caddy at £3.49(maybe even get two), a pack of the datawrite yellows 8x DVD-R in spindles of 25 for £4.99, been using the smae for 4 months now with perfect results everytime on a Panasonic E55

MAPLIN are doing 5 packs of TDK DVD+RW for £9.99 on a BOGOF.

    So that's 10 for £9.99

If you order online it is free P&P if the order is £35 or more.

Of course if you place an order of or just above certain values (£75, £100, £300, £400 or £500) online OR INSTORE, and use the discount codes that they email to you, then you can SAVE ANOTHER 10%.

Would make these TDK DVD+RW only £9 for 10

  • RL if there is a computer fair near you, you will be able to get Ritek and Datawrite discs there as cheaply as bigpockets , but weigh up time, distance and entry fee against postage, and of course knowledge gained by asking stallholders and enthusiasts questions about things you want to know.

I agree with Woby_ re his choice of discs.

    Hello again,
My main reason for buying the machine is to transfer my family video camera footage (children growing up etc) onto DVD (I have a backlog of mini tapes now waiting to be transferred) Obviously I want to keep the footage on dvd' forever - is there a particular disc that's high quality and lasts for a long time ? Sorry if this is a bit techie but you all seem to know such a lot about it.

if you can find them then discs that use Taiyo Yuden dye are the best money can buy, they make some of Verbatim's high quality discs but not all, i would suggest buying from SVP (http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acatalog/Show_me_all_the_DVD_R.html) as they are very reliable and source some high quality media, but if you find somewhere else that sells genuine Taiyo Yuden discs cheaper then grab em :)

Very true, but TY discs are very expensive. The Ritek G04 and G05 discs are almost as good and they are very affordable indeed. Do a search on ebay for G04 or G05.
