Hi
I've noticed my slow cooker pot gets mould on it when it isn't used. Yesterday I took off the lid and inside was absolutely covered in mould - the worst I have ever seen it. I never had this problem with my old one. This one is the crock pot saute 6L one.
It's always clean and dry when I put it away and I'm getting a little bored with washing it before I have to use it. and it is beginning to put me off using it.
Any ideas why this is?

Hi, the 0nly thing i can think of is that it isn't completly dry when you put it away and if you are storing it with the lid on this could cause mould to grow.
Maybe someone else may have a better idea.0 -
has the cupboard you store it in has become damp?0

I took a dish from the bottom of my cupboard a couple of weeks ago and it was mouldy. The whole of my kitchen is damp (though it took this incident to make me realise just how damp) and I probably hadn't dried it as thoroughly as I should have. It might help to store your SC with the lid off but I suspect you have a damp problem.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

It definitely isn't damp in ths cupboard and it is always completely dry before I put it away. As it has such a big crock pot, it is always sits on the draining board by itself and stays there overnight before I put it away the following morning.
It just doesn't make sense0 -
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with my Crock Pot. I now store it with the lid off.
MollyI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
my slow cooker came with instruction to never leave it sitting in water as the rim at the bottom isnt glazed so will soak up water.. perhaps this is whats happening, it will feel dry but if the 'inside' of the ceramics is still damp it might be this. Please be nice to all moneysavers!
