Dundee - Bridesmaid Dress alterations

Options
Hiya:

Anyone know of someone good who does minor alterations on dresses for a reasonable price?

My Bridesmaid needs straps added to her dress. We have the straps, they just need added .... should be an easy job. Plus a bolero jacket (which is too wide on the back) altered.

She had the thought of using my person who is altering my wedding dress but a) she's expensive and b) shes in Ayrshire so a three hour journey from Dundee!

But Bridesmaid says she doesnt know anyone in Dundee and doesn't want to pick someone who then messes it up..

I had suggested using the onsite alterations person in somewhere like Debenhams (I know the onsite person in the Debenhams in Glasgow is good for example) but she seems a bit reluctant to do that..

Any ideas?

Thanks guys!

I'm not sure about Dundee, but there are few in Perth if you dont mind travelling a few miiles. My sister has used a little place in Victoria Street (opposite Matalan) before to have alterations done and there is also a place at the top of the Old High Street (near Morrisons) that does dress making and alterations and often has bridal type dresses in the window - although I don't know anybody who has used that shop.
  • I have used the Tailor shop across from the Waterstones in the High Street of Dundee and also the polish one on Albert Street down the botom. Both have done an excellent job for me :)

Across from Waterstones book shop - had 11 year old boys dress suit jacket takin up sleeves/ 3 buttons repositioned, back taken in/ crease at bottom sewn in - cost £24 - They took 2 hours

Albert Street - 1 pair of denim jeans, 3 pairs of school trousers taken up and 2 zips added £18

I dont know if this is good or bad as never used menders before but the work done was exactally what i needed and seemed reasonably priced
 Any hints/tips advice is appreciated :D
