Critical Illness Cover+Mortgage Protection

Just to let you know I got quoted this week for a package of covers inc Critical illness, mortgage protection.(I wont bore you with what all is included)

It worked out in total at a little over £48 a month. (£576 a year). As it was being submitted I asked how much is it to pay off in one lump sum? Cue several phonecalls to the provider, and being passed from one person to the other. Apparently "this was unheard of to do, and hadnt been rarely asked for".

Next morning I got the call to state it would cost £381.16. A saving of nearly £195 a Year. The mortgage advisor was shocked, and said she had peservered to get an answer...the online application they all use defaults to Monthly payments.

I hope this is of help to someone out there, if you can afford the cash they pay it in a Lump sum!
