It may sound harsh but I have no sympathy whatsoever for people who fall for scams like this.

If you are so silly to fall for something like that, then its your own fault for being silly!
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

  • Thanks to all for thier advice. Fotuntely all they had was my e-mail advice which they got from my C.V. on totaljobs.com so I will ve speaking to totaljobs to see if they can stop them looking at people's CV. People that have just been made redundant are vulnerable. Thanks again

The e-mail that this scam company sends out is a generic one (i.e. they send the same email out to anyone whose email address they come across) and chances are they haven't actually even seen your CV.

Speaking to totaljobs.com is pointless, the whole point of their site is so that people can upload their CV and employers with vacancies can browse through and contact people whose qualifications/experience match the vacancy. If your CV is actually held by totaljobs.com then you must have created an account, uploaded your CV and asked them to match you with potential employers.

You can change your settings and choose not to let employers see your CVs.
I'd be surprised if anyone has ever received a genuine job offer in this way.
