Hi,
I know it's probably very early for some to be thinking about what to get ones children for Christmas this year.
My son will be 2 next year and my daughter is 6 and I honestly have no idea what to get them. My son loves Roary and cars in general but daughter isn't into anything specific?
Please will you help me find a few gifts for each? If you have spotted any bargains please post them aswell.
THANK YOU

That he couldn't be everywhere,
So he put His little Children
In a loving mother's care.

Hi,
There's loads of ideas on the Christmas thread, and no way are you thinking early!!
DD is also going to be 2 next year, have bought her lots of books from Book People and The Works. Also lots of In the Night Garden goodies as she's really into that at the mo.
No idea about a 6yo - perhaps HSM things? Others will be along soon with ideas.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1792277 is great for ideas. Its a big thread so may be best to start a dozen or so pages from the most recent posts. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

hi
ive got a dd aged 5 (nearly 6) and a dd aged 2. dd6 isn't into any one thing she likes just about anything, peppa, hsm, hannah montana, barbie, littlest pet shop, polly pocket and transformers to name a few. the good thing about this is that i can get quite a few bargains as theres always something on offer. I always have a quick look in pound shops, wilkos, argos , primark ( for pj's) and good old boots for the 342.
dd2 loves peppa ( theres more stuf around this year with george pig for boys). in the night garden, roary, noddy.
This year they both love the wonderpets and its in the boots 342 and wilkos. Wot about art/colouring/craft stuff, you can oick this stuff up quite cheaply and but a couple of bits a week to make a big pressie by xmas.
keep and eye out on the grabbit board and theres always bargains or discount codes flying around, i've saved a fortune already this year with my xmas shopping.March 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000 -
Hi, how about craft stuff for your 2yo - playdoh, plasticine, colouring books and pens? Pound shops and Home Bargains can be brilliant for books and pens. Sainsburys have had Crayola bits on offer but not sure if that is still on as haven't been in for a week or two.
I don't think you can go wrong with books, my boys love them (5 and 2) and you can get brilliant deals from The Book People, The Works, Amazon etc. The Book People have some fab Christmas books as the moment - stories, cooking and craft activities. There is a free delivery code somewhere too, Hot Uk Deals I think?
How about beads for your daughter? My eldest son has some friends who are madly into making things with beads, you can get some where your squirt water on them and they stick together so you don't need any messy glue or anything. I make cards and other crafty bits and for presents for some of my son's friends who are girls I have put together card making or craft kits and they have always been popular. For one I bought a HSM lunch tin that was on offer in Asda and filled with pens, crayons, glitter glue etc. The mum said it was one of her daughter's most favourite presents.
Any help? If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
love the idea of the tin full of craft bits rainmac. I made craft kits up forthe Grandchildren last year and didnt think of getting a tin or something to keep it all in. Could decorate an old one even, was it you who did the lovely tins before?0

Great idea, could decorate an old gravy tub and use as a pen pot maybe? If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
rainmac -you can't beat gravy tubs for all sorts...........lol
Last year I got an Aquadraw (recommended by Rusty Flange) from ELC for grandson who was 2 and half..........he really loved it.
Bit stuck what to get him this year though -what do you get a 3 and a half year old ?
I've got him a few bits and pieces -finger pupper with theatre, some letter and number puzzles and a sponge painting kit but they're second hand and I get the feeling DIL expects something 'new'I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

An idea that worked for me with my two are roleplay toys. They are 7 and 9 now and even now still play with their play shop stuff that they had at age 2-3. You can get a cheap play till and perhaps some pretend groceries (or they could use the real ones!) from places like Sainsbury's, elc, or even cheap shops sell them. Works for both ages too!
