Yes, hydrostat! That's probably the word I was looking for when I was trying to explain it in my previous post. Mine is an ebac and is the size for tackling a 3-4 bedroom house. It was expensive when I bought it....I'm sure it was well over £200 but they have probably come down in price now and to be fair, I have now had it abut 10 years and it's still working fine. I do agree about how effective they are. To give an example, my husband cooked a lovely Sunday dinner at the weekend and after doing all the veg, etc, the dining room (which is all glass as it's a conservatory) was completely steamed up. You couldn't see out at all. We cranked the dehumidifyer up to 5 just to clear it, and by the time we were half way through our dinner, the window nearest the room where we keep the machine was visibly clearing, then the next window, then the doors, etc. The machine is in the kitchen which is along a hallway and across a room away, so it shows that they work. I think if you have a room or cupboard that's a real problem, you can move it into there when you need a really big boost but otherwise, they do draw condensation for the whole house.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
