My local Tescos are doing BOGOF on their energy saving bulbs.
They've got some discounted energy saving spotlights included in the offer (which are good quality IMHO) for 37p for 2:

The Lidl ones are probably "open" bulbs (sticks or spirals). After reading this article I decided to buy only bulbs where the elements are enclosed in an outer glass layer:

Though reading the article, you would have to be very close to the bulb:The research showed that one in five of the "open" bulbs emitted UV light equivalent to that experienced on "a sunny day in summer" when in very close proximity (less than one inch) to the skin, which warranted "some precaution". When the light was moved further away, beyond one foot, the UV level was below the exposure on a sunny day in winter and was "not a concern".
Anyway, back on topic - Philips energy saving light bulbs were 5 for 30p at our local Range store.0 -
I think they are very cheap in WH Smith as well, if I remember correctly...The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.
