    Don't use the steamer - the tin needs to float in the water.

    Not trying to be argumentative (I usually hate it when people say that, cos they usually are, but I'm not, honest!), but why? I've steamed mine for about twelve years (trying to remember how long I've had the steamer), and it always works!

    Perhaps people worry it won't get hot enough, or maybe not evenly hot? Mind you, steaming them for 12 years will almost certainly do the trick:D

    i use the carnation caramel and it is lovely,yes it is a tad expensive but worth it
