you have to pay for the texts for comping im afraid, price vary from 25p, 50p, £1 etc, there are some comps that are free but very rare we see those, one just now is:

sorry to be a pain but if it said standard rate would it be in my free texts then? just dont want to run up a huge bill, havent been able to comp all year !!! had a very bad year but hoping to get back into it in the new year, its suprising how much easier christmas is with some small winsback to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0

I get free texts with o2 but i don't get 'comp' texts free even if it says its charge at your standard network rate. They only tend to be 10p so i think they are ok.
Have you thought about getting a really cheap PAYG mobile just for comping?
That way you top it up & can keep an eye on how much your spending on your text/phone comps.“Hope is the only bee that makes honey without flowers.”
Some people only dream of angels, i held one in my arms.
