Bankruptcy and getting employment

Hi
I went bankrupt in July of this year and have been unemployed since, I have now found employment and had a few questions.Would appreciate it if anyone can help...
Do I need to tell the OR that I have found employment if I dont how do they find out?
If I have to complete a income and expenditure sheet how much do they allow me living at parents as I plan to pay my parents quite well per month say £400-500 as they have been brilliant!
and do they need proof of this?
If they decide I need to pay an amount for the 3 years do they take it from my wages which obviously then my new employers will now know im bankrupt or can I pay it from my bank on a DD?

Thank you
Kev

Do I need to tell the OR that I have found employment if I dont how do they find out? while undischarged you HAVE to inform the or's office within 21 days of any finances change...so youreally have to tell them when you start the new job...they'll only find out through the tax office if you dont tell them....and the concequences could be a whole lot worse

and do they need proof of this? what you pay from surplus after bankruptcy is your business..
If they decide I need to pay an amount for the 3 years do they take it from my wages which obviously then my new employers will now know im bankrupt or can I pay it from my bank on a DD? you set up a DD with a company working on behalf of the OR called "moon beaver"...and yes its real!

remember though you'll still have to fill in a new SOA so there will be stuff you didnt have before with new work expenses

    Thank you
    Kev

  • Thank you for your replies, but do they allow a certain limit for rent whilst living at parents on the SOA?

best thing to do is pop up a new SOA with all your expenses....we'll have a look & advise if need to

the OR has a general idea of expenses so if a little ott the OR will question..

Hi Kev, there is no set amount for rent just the proviso that it be "reasonable". is the £500 including rent bills and food. If it is i would say it is more than reasonable

I think that amount for rent is reasonable. You can still put £200 on top of that for housekeeping. As phil suggests pop up your SOA when you're ready and we'll try and help.

Regarding your IPA, if one is imposed, you will pay that direct to moonbeaver yourself so your employer won't have any inkling.
