Found some good bargains in the wine section at Asda today. Various reds and whites (and 1 rose) down to £2 a bottle. The ones I got were:

Frontera Cabernet Sauvignon (2008)
Berberana Dragon Tempranillo (2006)
La Serena Chardonnay (2009)
Peter Lehmann Barossa Semillon Chardonnay (2007)
Namaqua Elephant River Shiraz Pinotage Rose (2009)

All at £2 a bottle - bargain! Definately worth looking out for in your Asda.

Thanks for the heads up dougs, I don't often go to the supermarkets on Saturdays as it is rather manic.....but I made an exception today and am now stocked up for the rest of the year!
I went armed with a list of the ones you had named, but my store was sold out of most of them, but got several others you hadn't mentioned, so would advise others just to go and check the shelves carefully. Lots of reductions, and got 2 dozen at £2 inc
Frontera Cabernet Sauvignon (Chile) - Conchay Toro 2008.
I am no wine expert, but at this price it will do for making Mulled Wine or a punch....so Santa should have a VERY merry Christmas in my house:santa2::xmassmile:xmassign:

p.s prices clearly marked in 2 stores I visited, so you can spot the £2 ones - if there is any left.

Misiones De Rengo Chardonnay 2007 - Rapel Valley, Wine of Chile

Our store today had a huge (and I mean huge!) pile of Andrew Peace Mighty Murray White in the wine section at £2 a bottle. Most of the other £2 wines that have been mentioned in this thread have gone now but there certainly seemed to be plenty of this that they wanted to shift!

None in mine today but they did have AP chardonnay 3 for £10,and the semillion blanc at £3 a bottle.

The AP white at £2 just says "white wine" but it is very good.
