I hate watchers who don't buy anything:mad:.
I don't do it any more now!
Hmm... dunno if this http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/product1?catId=400054&mediaId=84700757 might help speed things up?I am already sick of queueing in the Post Office.
I can see that becoming very tiresome indeed.
:rotfl::rotfl:Hi sarah
Was beginning to worry that you had disappeared under a pile of ebay stuff :rotfl::rotfl:Just noticed the thread is getting rather long and it's around this point that we get shut down and one of the board guides starts a new one.:( I shall try to preempt them this time, does anyone have any ideas for a thread title?:)
Oooh, something optimistic. With Fabulous in it.
Have somehow ended up within budget for the month (so far, don't want to tempt fate) so think I will put a chunk in the car fund. Did buy myself something as a 'hurrah' for passing my first MSc module though. Didn't buy v cute silk nightie and wrap, so have saved £85 right there; and am considering whether silk dress will get to audition for the privilege of being part of my wardrobe
How is the Neurotic Midget Sarah? I thought of you the other night when my flatmate informed me that his anxiety levels simply can't cope with my presence in the living room on the evenings he's here - apparently my mere existence interferes with his ability to 'zone out' while watching TV. Have politely pointed out the 'give and take' nature of shared living arrangements and await results. (Confess to fuming while waiting.)
Happy Friday everybody

Good!:D I don't mind watchers if something actually sells for a good price but having people watch as I sell a good item for 99p is most annoying:D
:eek::eek: Can't believe the cheek of him! Does he seriously expect you to pay the rent so he has somewhere comfortable to chill out?:eek:How is the Neurotic Midget Sarah? Thank God this week is over
It has dragged sooo much.
Work hasn't been a whole load of fun. The student today who reckoned he knew how to do my job after half a day, cut me off whenever I tried to tell him anything with 'Yeah, I know about that' and wouldn't listen to a word I said kind of topped things off *roll eyes*
It's the weekend now though!! _party_ Don't know what I'm going to do yet. Got a few jobs to do, but I definitely think I need some 'me time' as well.
Rosa - He wants you not to sit in the living room while he's there, so that he can 'zone out'?!? Tell him to zone out in his own bleeping room! I'll admit I don't always enjoy living on my own, but I think I'd like a boyfriend rather than a housemate. These stories sound like a nightmare.
Sarah - Keep going with the frugality and the ebaying and just use NM's annoying behaviour to spur you on to get out of there!
GwenxThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
I've had some good news friends so am gonna be selfish and this post is all about me me me!!!
I've been offered a FLAT!! I'm so excited!!!
They rang this afternoon and said I wasn't going to be offered a flat but was top of reserve list, then as I was leaving work got a call to say someone has pulled out so I've been offered a flat. Not my first choice but still a really good flat. I'm soooo happy and excited and also a bit panicked as need to save a ton of cash now!!!!:j:jI've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

OK, back to everyone else.
Rosa :mad: how rude. And ridiculous. Does he expect that you will be sat there enjoying Eastenders or whatever and he walks in the room so you get up and retreat to your bedroom???? !!!!!!???? He needs to get over himself and sharpish. I am impressed with your restraint.....
Sarah - I definitely need to follow your lead and get snapping so I can get my[STRIKE] junk [/STRIKE] valuable possessions on ebay asap. Glad to hear you're managing to avoid NM.
Gwen - how annoying. Don't worry though, that student will get his comeuppance when he tries to do something big and totally messes it up big style cos he didn't listen to you...pride comes before a fall and all that!I've got my own flat :j:j

He apparently expects that I will use the other room, as I refused to put the TV in there (which btw is mine, and as I don't use it that much the main reason for buying a flatscreen for Christmas was to shut up his whinging about the old one) because the living room includes the dining table and if I kept books and studied in there, would be interrupted every time he wanted to use the kitchen or the dining table. The reason I haven't been is that there the heater in there doesn't work and the times I have gone in there I've ended up wrapped in furry throws because it's so darn cold. All of which is quite beside the point that neither of us should be insisting when the other can use shared areas. Apparently he can't possibly be expected to use his room when he wants peace as he requires a TV, and his room is too small. (Buying one or 'tough luck, you saw it when you agreed to move in' are apparently not solutions.) I was quite calm about it during the conversation but am actually finding I'm very angry - am fed up with hearing how this house isn't good enough for him and if anything further is mentioned am going to tell him that if he can't cope with normal shared living for half the week then he really needs to get his own place. Sorry, rant over

I can't stand people that share houses but expect to be left alone completely... if you want that then stay in your room!
As for the cocky student... yeh I know plenty of them too!
I signed up to a new phone contract today, £15 a month with vodafone instead of my current £40 a month with Orange so I'm very happy
I'm job hunting atm, I'm painfully aware that I graduate in 3 months and even though my work is a priority I do want to try and get something sorted so I don't end up with time on my hands.
I also need to find somewhere to live over the summer... think I'm going to offer half-rent to anyone who is paying for a room over summer but isn't staying down here. The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Congrats! Is it a council flat or from a rental agency? When do you have to have deposits etc paid up by??The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. It is neither. It is a shared ownership flat, I live in London and just could never manage to save enough for a full deposit (or get a big enough mortgage!)
So I take out a mortgage on 45% of the cost of the flat and pay rent on the balance. However I do have security of tenure, providing I pay my mortgage and rent I'll effectively own it!!!
If / when my financial situation improves, I can then buy out the other share in the future.
They are expecting handover in June although imagine that is very much subject to change....
So have three months to save save save.....I've got my own flat :j:j

Rosa - how annoying. I don't understand that at all??? I have quite a small TV so unless his room is a shoebox I don't see that he can't have a TV in his room ??? And anyway, he is paying for the use of the shared rooms, not exclusive use. Maybe he would like to pay you more rent to have that room exclusively

Totally agree about not taking any more nonsense from him...I've got my own flat :j:j
