Welcome - is your name from Cinderella?
Thanks! Nope, not from Cinderella, although I think I like that better than the real story
Thought I'd better do a little introduction...
I'm not sure I really qualify for this thread, as I only have a small 0% CC debt and my mortgage which I don't tend to count. In true single girl style, I live in a shabby chic flat with my big fluffy cat (black cat and cream/white everything else, not a good mix :eek:). I earn a stupidly low income due to an employer who won't give me a contract and has just removed my chance for promotion :rolleyes: but I've decided that this is going to be the year for ME with less complaining and more doing!
I've just seen a little terraced house I'd like to look at, with a view to renting out my flat and moving on. I only bought this place as a 'stop gap' when I split with my ex and although I'm truly grateful to have been able to afford it, I miss not having much garden to speak of and it's never really felt like *home*. Plus the 'new' place has a walk in wardrobe...I'm thinking SHOES
So I spend my very small wage as frugally as possible, with much help from lurking on this site. I don't go out much, no big group of friends and my closest are coupled up with babies, so lots of wine drinking and gossiping when we get the chance.
Christ, I'm blathering...sorry...I'm rubbish at this introduction thing.
But I think what I'm trying to say is that, if you'll have me, I'd like to join in to try and be more positive about my life and to try and build it up to reach more of my personal goals. And you all talk about cake and cats and handbags, so you sound like my kind of people :rolleyes::D:beer:0 -
Way to go Lula :j
Another F Fabulous 2010 rule - all underwear must be matching (just in case we get run over - Dr Ross anybody :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Should NOT have looked, there's a lovely going out top and a denim jacket I like, I won't be purchasing though I'm afraid. Are denim jackets in then? I used to have one years ago then they disappeared from the shops. Actually I cannot believe I just said that sentence ('Are denim jackets in then?):rolleyes::rolleyes: !!!!!! I used to be fashionable, now I'm asking questions like that!! Oh dear
2010 isn't going to be frugal for me, it's going to be about balance...watching the finances, having a life, renovating my house and moving on.
GwenxThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -

Welcome Bibbitybob:D Are you doing any random over-spending in the last 22 minutes of 2009?:D
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Sorry, spend so long writing my reply I missed the messages in between!
No random spending, however I plan to start the year in style with a trip to Cheshire Oaks tomorrow. Justifying it with the intention to buy some bits to sell on Ebay, to cover any items that might just happen to fall into my wardrobe....:A0 -

I love the idea but realistically I think my current wardrobe would look pretty pathetic in anything other than a shoebox! Oh for the days when I had disposable income
