I Wanna: Cover Up Bleach Marks????

My friend borrowed my new khaki combat trousers and decided to try a home highlighting kit while wearing them! I now have bleachy marks on them and would love to hear any ideas on how to cover them up or remove them, as they are new! Please help me!

If she was using bleach then you are stuffed as bleach removes colour not puts it in..... so the marks are where colour has been removed... the only thing I would try is getting several diffent colour felt tip pens and try blending different colours to cover up the marks..or maybe you will be lucky and find an exact match.. you might have to keep redoing it each time you wash as the pen cover up will fade with washing....

Good tip, do not lend daft friend anymore new clothes....:rotfl:

Would a dylon thingy work? either the machine wash ones or the wee ones you soak in a bucket?

Even if you dye the trousers the lighter patches will probably still show as they will dye a brighter colour. The only thing I think might work would be to soak the trousers in dillute bleach overnight or use Dylon colour stripper to get them to a uniformly pale colour. Then dye them back to the colour you want them. Machine dye is probably your best option for a largeish, heavyish garment like trousers. You might get away without bleaching them if you dye them black or a very dark colour. You can get dylon machine dye in most crafts or sewing shops, major department stores and somes hardware shops or branches of Woolworths. You can buy it online from Fred Aldous. The Dylon website has a lot of good advice and information about which fabrics are suitable and how many packets to use according to the weight of fabric.

I have successfully dyed over bleach using dylon washing machine dyes. I spilt bleach on my brown combats and successfully dyed them back to brown. These dyes can be purchased from most hardware stores, and certainly Woolworths and Wilkinson sell them for around £5.
