    Hi,

I'm new to the site (please, be gentle with me!) and I'm hoping some of the more savvy money savers could point me in the right direction.

I work full time, mon-fri 8-5, but what with getting a house and car a few years ago, have mounted up debts (£5500 on credit cards and overdraft) Try as i might, i can never seem to make a big enough dent in this, so i figured some extra work might be an idea.

The thing is, i haven't a clue where to look, I've tried the local paper, Sheffield Forum, Gumtree etc. The only offer i got back was from Bettaware, which i accepted, only for them to never send me ANYTHING.

Would love to hear peoples sugesstions on this, as it is bothering me that every month i have no money to spend on me, its all swallowed by bills and bank charges.

I read somewhere earlier this year a piece of advice that has served me well. When in debt, pay the minimum repayments on everything except the lowest debt you owe, Pay that off as soon as you can, when you've paid it off start on the next debt. This way it really helps you to keep focused and even getting rid of a debt that's only a few hundred pounds can lift your spirits a great deal just because you no longer have to worry about it.
