Help on my wedding party

Hi fellow B2B's,
I am having a bit of a wobble (very anxious), as to how the hell our wedding party is going to work when we get back from honeymoon.
We are going up to Scotland to get married with close family (about 15 of us), and then after the honeymoon plan on having a party back down in Essex.
NOW a few questions if anyone could offer any advice
1) Should I wear my wedding dress again and what would my new husband wear if so?
2) MIL will not want to come, should we invite her? I dont think I can take having her nose raised at the thought of us putting her out again
3) How do people get on with mixing people from different areas of your life? IE My family are country bumpkins, compared to say, my colleagues at work. Is it all very messy?
4)Is a magician a good idea?
5) How the hell can I make it the best party ever? LOL
Any ideas greatly appreciated xxxxxxxxxxxxx

1) Should I wear my wedding dress again and what would my new husband wear if so? yes wear your dress, what better than to get to wear it twice!
hubby could wear what he likes, people are just interested in the brides clothes IMO!
2) MIL will not want to come, should we invite her? I dont think I can take having her nose raised at the thought of us putting her out again
invite her, her loss if she doesn't go but it will save her moaning she's been left out if you invite her. why, isn't she going to your wedding??
3) How do people get on with mixing people from different areas of your life? IE My family are country bumpkins, compared to say, my colleagues at work. Is it all very messy? leave them to it, its to be expected at most weddings anyway. cant wait till OH's family meet mine :rotfl:
4)Is a magician a good idea? if that's what you want then have one!
5) How the hell can I make it the best party ever? that's easy......you invite me
:rotfl::rotfl:

1, YES!!! Get DH to wear his outfit again, if he's hiring than a suit
2, Invite her if she doesn't come she's not worth it!!!
3, It will be the same as any other party, people get on with it
4, Not my cup of tea, there would be more of an atmosphere with a good DJ  and even better throw in some cheesy tunes that you know will get people dancing
5< Chill out, relax and let everyone get on with it, if they don't then it;s their lose and you will see what miserable ba***rds they are

1) Should I wear my wedding dress again and what would my new husband wear if so?
If you want to wear it, wear it, I'm sure your guests will want to see you looking fantastic. Part of my enjoyment in a wedding is seeing how fab people look dressed up. If you don't want to, wear something else that you feel good in.
2) MIL will not want to come, should we invite her? I dont think I can take having her nose raised at the thought of us putting her out again
Invite her out of politeness, if she doesn't come are you ok with that?
3) How do people get on with mixing people from different areas of your life? IE My family are country bumpkins, compared to say, my colleagues at work. Is it all very messy?
God knows! Our families haven't met yet & prob won't, they are very different and we guess they'll just end up socialising in their little groups!
4)Is a magician a good idea?
Great idea! A friend of ours had one for the kids and the adults loved it just as much!
5) How the hell can I make it the best party ever? LOL
Invite people that you care about, have a few drinks and some good tunes and it will all come together!

WOW - thanks for all your replies!!!!!!
Shellsuit - well if you are a party girl - come on over ha ha. As long as you help me dance around my wedding handbag
MIL is coming to wedding in Scotland, but begrudgingly. Comments like, we'll drive up on the day and back home (6 hour drive each way!), we'll stay in a cheap travelodge (closest is in England!!). She wanted us to pay for them to go to our wedding in the Bahamas!!! NO CHANCE, they have shown no willing toward the wedding at all
Chelbel - We are having a DJ too, and need to find a venue where guests can chat and have a good dance. The magician would be an additional, but you are right, it may not be everyones cup of tea. I was thinking about a close up "Derren Browny" type of magician, but horses for courses.
Jooles - If MIL doesnt come I think I would prefer it as I know she is going to turn her nose up on our wedding day, so for her to meet my family would be horiffic. Yep, good tunes is deffo on the list of most important things, to get a great atmosphere and people dancing. Wooo hoooo lol
Thanks ever so much for your input ladies, it really helps. I think i will deffo wear my dress, get me monies worth from Landy LOL
Any other tips more than welcome!!!!

We went to an engagement party where we knew no body! (except the bride to be) and she had put questionaires on all the tagles, asking people questions about the bride and groom to be, it really got people talking to each other trying to find out silly things like childhood bears names, middle names, which football team supported etc. It was really good fun and they are doing it again for the wedding!0

Invite the miserable old bag and be the 'bigger' person
:D

Could be messy, but bung alcohol in and everyone will be fine!
4)Is a magician a good idea?
We've hired one, just to get things going in the evening, haggle hard they want the work more than you need a magician. Got ours for £250 for three hours (he quoted £350
)
5) How the hell can I make it the best party ever? LOL
Relax and enjoy yourself, as someone wiser than me said 'you make your own fun in this world'
Any ideas greatly appreciated xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hope it works out well for you!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0
