RBS/Triton loan debt help please!!

Hi,

This might take a bit of explainging so ill start from the beginning...

In April 2007 i started a DMP with the help of the CAB and have been paying my creditors less amounts and with no interest quite happliy since then. One of which was my loan with RBS and 3 current accounts with overdrafts. RBS bulked it all together and gave me one of my current accounts as the one to pay the debt into.

Then last year after Xmas i started to default again on my RBS loan/current accounts as it was the highest of my creditors and i was getting very nasty letters. So after looking on this MSE forum i found a company called Paypal who do DMP's free of charge and who can negoiate a better amount per month with RBS. (they came highly recommened by other users) They did deal with RBS and my other creditors and everything seemed ok(this was in May 2009).

Then i got an email from my DMP Manager telling me the account i gave them to pay my RBS loan/accounts to was being rejected......

So i phone RBS loans and they tell me my balance is £0!!!! And that the account had been closed - hence payments getting rejected. The balance should be around £10k! So i checked my credit report (free 30 day trial) and seen on there is was at £0 balance.

So my next step was ringing Triton Credit Services(this was the company name from one of the previous letters i had recieved regarding my RBS loan). They instruct me the balance is around £10k still. So i ask them to send me payment details as it seamed Triton had bought the debt off RBS??

That was nearly 2 months ago and 3 phone calls to Tirton later i still have not had any instruction or letters from Triton or RBS regarding my debt and the fact i have not paid anything to them in over 2 and half months.

You would think if i owed them £10k they would be chasing it?????

Where do i stand now? Without my RBS debt my other debt is only £3k which i can have paid off within a year paying what i am every month. But i cant think about the future and getting my own house as i am worried Triton will pop up down the line and start chasing that £10k!

Has anyone else had dealings with Triton and a similar situation??

Triton Credit services is just part of RBS, so all the same:)just different trading names (basically an inhouse debt collection team)
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.

From my experience RBS and Triton enjoy playing games to unsettle debtors. I have been paying them on my DMP for a long while. I received a letter one day from Triton telling me that I was several months behind in payments which I knew was incorrect. The letter they sent me also showed that the money was in one of my accounts untouched as it gave details of them. When I queried this they said that the money was being paid into the wrong account! They hadn't informed me of a change of account number for the money to be paid into and hadn't told my DMP company either.

I've no time for Triton at all. They are just a load of cowboys.

Thing is with Triton they do try to bully you and are not very clued up on things to be honest. If you stand your ground with them they, like most bullys, retreat and back down and eventually give up.

Had this with them and Nat West and, to cut a long story short, gave the account back to Nat West where I paid them what I could afford and what I had said I could pay all along.
