Hi - if you are connected to the internet then it is all at your finger tips. I quite often look at what is left in the fridge, type the ingrediants into google and get a whole host of exciting recipes. If you try and like them, just print it out to keep.

You can often find recipe cards in the supermarkets - we use Sainsbury's (other supermarkets are available ;)), and often pick them up with our weekly shop.

    Good luck.
May contain nuts. Your mileage may vary. Batteries not included. Thanks to all posters :D

Most of the big Supermarkets have free monthly (or quarterly) magazines that have lots of seasonal recipes in them....as well as coupons to clip and save money too!

For special occassions you can get posher cook books from the library and scan/photocopy a couple of recipes (check with the librarian how much you can copy without infringing copyright!....you're usually fine with a couple of recipes)....and always check the selection when libraries sell off old books, I've picked up a few classics for a matter of pennies.

Lots of the vegetarian sites post out free starter packs, recipe sheets & have plenty of downloads & online recipes. You don't have to be veggie to enjoy them & coming up to Xmas they have some delicious festive recipes. World Vegan Day on Nov 1 also mean there are a lot of leaflets & recipes about for that.

For example, try looking round these sites for interesting links to recipes:

http://www.viva.org.uk/ - Resources:Viva! Guides; Veggie recipes; Going Veggie/Vegan & the sections on their Incredble Road Show (which travels round the country & has loads of food sampling & cheapo deals for a couple of quid entry).

http://www.animalaid.org.uk/ - Veggie Starter Pack; lots of booklets (eg I Can't Believe It's Vegan) & recipe sheets; online recipes.

http://www.vegansociety.com/ - Free info pack; various guides (eg Vegan Catering For All); online recipes etc.

http://www.peta.org.uk/ - Free Vegetarian Starter Pack etc.

http://www.vegsoc.org/cordonvert/recipes/index.html - Index of recipes & browse the site for other info.

And of course, Going Vegan Old Style - loads of MSE recipes, kindly indexed by twinkle_star & lots more links to online resources if you have time to search through :D

Legally, any parts copied are infringing copyright. Doesn't matter though, assuming you're doing it for personal use.

Of course, if you've got an all-in-one printer, you can do the photo-copying at home and no-one need find out.
Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

Sainsburys is fantastic at the moment because you can get family meals for under a fiver.

I agree that the internet is a fab resource. The BBC food website is particularly good:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/food

Also the Old Style MoneySaving forum on this very site offers a wealth of advice and support on cookery / household / thrift matters. They would be more than happy to help with recipe queries:

Good luck in your married life! :)
