Tarragon goes well with salmon.0

Ooooo.... that sounds good.
Is it just like a normal fish pie, adding curry to the sauce ?
What do you use for the topping ??
Topping could be mash or pastry;)0 -
I posted in here earlier and can't believe I forgot to add one of my favourite things to go with fish! Chorizo. Not a herb, obviously, but it's lovely with the tomato sauce, or baked in the oven with something a bit meaty like cod.
yummy0 -
I usually bake fish in the oven and IMHO fennel is the best for fish, also dill if you can get it - different types of parsley also make a good change. Not strictly herbs but I always put a few capers in my fish pie mixes and I'm sure they would also go well in a fish stew.I posted in here earlier and can't believe I forgot to add one of my favourite things to go with fish! Gotta agree Fennel, Capers & Chorizo are all fab too:D0 -

Aye... I think I am going to try that...
Mashed sweet potato might be quite a nice topping too0 -
hollandaise sauce is nice with fish - and i love fish with curry sauce! goes well in tomato and basil sauce too - but not sure about the smoked fish with that as i usually used just white fish. my families fave was my fisherman pie
It was made with white fish, some tinned salmon if i had any leftover or smoked salmon or haddock ( as you can see it was a 'chuck anything in pie'.
if I had any prawns (cooked) they went in too!
all in either plain white sauce or parsley sauce or even hollandaise works
topped with mash - some sweet potato often went in
then baked in oven for half hour
oh and for a change I sometimes grated cheese on top - it works - try it!0 -
Some great suggestions which I'll use sometime soon. Changed my mind about having fish stew and I steamed the cod in dill, butter and a slug of rice wine. Served it with a soft poached egg and it was very tasty (yum-yum dill). The smoked haddock never got used, i'll probably use it up in a Cullen Skink soup, after watching the hairy bikers on TV:D0
